Did you know that gypsum is created as a waste product in a thermal power plant?

But what happens behind the scenes in RDK8, Germany?

  • Nearly 1GW of output,

  • consumption 260t of coal an hour,

  • production 20t of ashes an hour. It’s a full truck. Which then is re-used to create the concrete for road construction

  • Gypsum is produced as a waste product

Yes, gypsum, indeed!

Gypsum is produced as a by-product of flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems. In other words, after the coal was burned, in the cleaning process, gypsum is crystallized.

Which then is used in medicine (Orthopedic Casts, plaster, dental application etc), construction (plaster…), agriculture, industrial applications, arts, education, etc.
